Hand-dyed, pre-wound weaving warp, cotton slub with synthetic binder, 200 ends, 3 1/4 yards long, in shades of brown, rust, peach, and beige
This warp is wound and ready to go on the loom. I dyed the warp after winding it. The colors are brown, dark brown, rust, peach, salmon, tan, and beige. The synthetic binder thread did not take the dye, so there is a marled effect with the one ply staying white. With the way that I dye my warps the colors do not generally occur across the entire warp. You may get some of the appearance of a shifted warp without any shifting. The placement of colors just happen where they will, there is no planning. This means that each warp is different and the way that the colors change will be different thru out the warp. Look at listings of my scarves for examples.
This warp is a cotton slub with a synthetic ply, with approximately 2800 yards per pound and 24 wraps per inch. There are 200 ends and it is 3 1/4 yards long. The cross is tied and there are choke ties near each end and a tie in the loops at each end. I try and catch all knots but since I might have missed one, I include at least two extra warp threads. I recommend saving them for repair threads as needed.
I use color-fast dyes and wash and rinse many times. As with anything dyed, there could still be some excess dye, especially with dark or bright colors. I recommend washing in cold water and using a color catcher as needed.
I dye my warps one at a time, so each warp is one of a kind and the one you see here is the one you will receive. I do my best to describe the colors in each warp and to get the best pictures, but I can only describe the main colors. There may be some bits of other colors as the colors mix. Feel free to convo me for more info if needed.
Warps may be woven as is or you may add to a warp. You can add a solid color as a stripe, as every other thread, as every 2nd or 3rd or any other number, either to change the look or simply to make the warp wider. You can also combine multiple warps together or you can also split a warp and save part to use another time. The length is measured after dyeing and drying.
